William G. Staples

William G. Staples is Professor Emeritus of Sociology. Staples took his PhD from the University of Southern California and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA. He taught in the KU Sociology Department for thirty-one years, retiring in 2020. After living in Washington, DC. for 5 years, Bill, and his partner Lizette Peter, returned “home” to Lawrence in 2025.
