Biography

Kaniz Fatema’s research explores flexible work, worker well-being, and organizational dynamics. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and earned a second Master’s in Sociology with Honors from the University of Kansas. Before pursuing graduate studies in the U.S., Kaniz served as a regional manager for BRAC’s microfinance program, supervising over 200 employees and managing a financial portfolio exceeding $15 million. Drawing on these experiences, her work examines how workplaces are structured, how employees experience and navigate their roles, and how organizational practices shape work-life realities.
