Introducing USSA (formerly Soc Club)

Undergraduate Student Sociological Association (USSA)

USSA is a student organization dedicated to building community among undergraduates majoring or minoring in sociology at KU and helping students explore how to use their sociology degrees after graduation. We host events that connect students with each other and with professionals working in fields related to sociology. Two of our most impactful events this past year focused on life after graduation: In the fall, we hosted a Graduate School Panel, where students from programs in public health, public policy, law, social work, and more shared how their social science backgrounds prepared them for advanced study. In the spring, we held a Non-Profit Careers Panel, featuring local nonprofit leaders who spoke about their paths into the sector, the relevance of sociology in their work, and practical advice for students interested in similar careers.
